The Westerly Historical Society has started a video oral history program called Reflections to feature interviews with Westerly residents ages 80 to 101 who were born and raised in town.
Each video will include archival photographs, newspaper articles, and family photographs corresponding to the time period, giving the audience an understanding of what life was like at that time. Reflections includes both audio and video components, enabling viewers not only to hear the speaker’s tone but also to observe their body language and facial expressions adding a powerful emotional element to the audience’s experience.
Episode 1: Dr. Thomas (Tippy) Salimeno, Jr., born in Westerly in 1926.
